Yoav Levanon to perform “Beethoven Monument” program at Piano aux Jacobins Festival
The prestigious piano festival which, since 1980, invites the most outstanding and diverse artists of the planet opens each year the rich musical season of Toulouse. This 41st edition of Piano aux Jacobins, emblem of the Pink City, will open on September 8 under very specific circumstances. The health crisis has overturned all forecasts, all timetables, and led to countless cancellations all over the world. Passed the time of inevitable questions, and strengthened by its position in the calendar, Piano aux Jacobins has opted for another route, with a reduced schedule, of course, but strictly in accordance with the spirit that has animated it from the beginning.
Worn once again by the duo of Festival's creative buddies, Catherine d'Argoubet and Paul-Arnaud Péjouan, this edition continues to evolve, the Festival maintains the course of what makes its strength and its identity: the coexistence between the prestige of consecrated artists and openness to the younger generation. The diversification of repertoires, from the Baroque period to the music of today, also remains on the agenda. Yoav Levanon who is the youngest participant in the festival will perform the special “Beethoven Monument” program. The “Beethoven Monument” program, celebrating Beethoven’s 250th birthday, presents works of major composers that contributed to the fund raising and efforts that resulted in building the Beethoven statue in Bonn.
